SIMPSON STORM 12U ASA MEMORIAL DAY CLASSIC
May 24th and 25th; in the event of rain Monday May 26th will be used to complete the tournament.

Saturday pool play games will be played at Pickard Park with Sundays championship fight played at the Simpson College softball complex.
Cost: $200 and 2 ASA approved game balls
ASA rules will apply

TRAINING / INSTRUCTIONAL OPPORTUNITIES
Pitching - Myndie Berka - Ages 7 years old and up
I have been teaching pitching in Iowa for 10 years now and have had the opportunity to work with
hundreds of Iowa girls...many of them have played in your league! I have been working for a
training facility in Nashville and commuting up to Iowa twice a month for lessons for the past
4 years. This year I have decided to again focus all of my attention to my clients in Iowa...
I have attached registration materials for the lessons. The program is very comprehensive and
does require a fairly large commitment from each athlete that participates. The pitchers are
required to record all practice activities in a practice log that will be issued to them at the
first lesson. During the fall and first part of winter they will work on perfecting mechanics,
improving speed, and, if they are ready, learning a new pitch or concept of movement.
In February they will shift to starting to get their pitches ready for competition. Skills
such as hitting targets, throwing the change-up in the zone, working movement pitches in and
out of the zone and understanding batter weaknesses and how to throw to them will become the
major focus. They will also perform competitive games to force them to have to focus and
succeed under pressure. The program is open to pitchers 7 years old and up.
The girls will be put in age/skill appropriate classes
